He said the tasks facing this committee would be to analyze curriculum needs, visit other schools to study systems in operation, study the literature dealing with teaching computer science, attend all possible conferences and vendor demonstrations, investigate and evaluate available software, determine criteria for hardware sejection based on proposed lesson plans and available software, compare curriculum needs to available equipment and decide what the system can afford, plan a timetable “for the implementation strategies that make the most sense for the Rappahannock County schools”, plan for teacher and administrator training, establish criteria to evaluate the program and then actually set the program in action.
Campbell’s plan was unanimously approved.
