College students in this country are known for their interest in fun and the unusual ways they find to enjoy themselves.
Students around the world probably share that characteristic, but at least one group of Indian students found a way to have fim, learn and help others at the same time. They formed an adventure club.
Two adventurers, Chandrapal Kaman and Subramanyam Raman, spent three days in Rappahannock last week with Rev. Steve Scoggin and his family in Washington. The two were resting after their walk/run journey down the east coast which took them on the Appalachian Trail.
“All they have are running shoes, and they’re not particularly suited for hiking on the Trail,” said Scoggin. “When they got here, they had a few blisters.”
Raman and Kaman had stopped in Flint Hill to ask where they could pitch their tent for the night when they were referred to the Scoggins. They never plan where they will spend each night as they head in the general direction of Key West, Fla.
They have been in the U.S. since September 1984, but they started their trip on April 22 in Boston. After a delay, they re-started on May 16. They also participated in the Boston Marathon.
