Currently cn display in the lobby of the Gay St. Theatre is the work of Rappahannock County native Ernest Dennis.
The exhibition of pastels and pencil on paper and wood is Dennis’ first public display.
He is completely self-taught, though he studied for a year at Rappahannock County High School with Miss Johnson.
That art class helped him maintain his knowledge of drawing which he has pursued since leaving high school.
His work draws upon his observations of the world around him, especially the animal world.
