Clara V. Sampson
Clara Virginia Sampson, 70, of 1146 Hickory St. in Winchester, died on Aug. 23 at her residence.
Mrs. Sampson was bom in Rappahannock County and was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Nora May Bedlow Wolford. She~was married to the late Carl Floyd Sampson and was a member of the Cedar Cliff Presbyterian Church in Frederick County .
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy L. Moyers of Front Royal and Dorothy V. Wilson of Winchester; two sons, Charles H. Sampson of Newport News and Carl “Wayne” Sampson of Winchester; two sisters, Mae Wymer of Winchester and Irene Ritenour of Front Royal; two brothers, Russell Wolford of Woodstock and Charles “Doc” Wolford of Winchester; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a close friend and companion, John W. Stover of Winchester.
A funeral was held on Aug. 27 at the Stover Funeral Home in Strasburg. The Rev. Christopher D. Carlisle officiated. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery at Strasburg.
Crusade set
The Hoppers and Connie, a southern gospel singing group will perform at a crusade Friday at 7 p.m. at the Culpeper County High School.
There is no admission charge and the public is invited.
