Jackson District meeting
Supervisor Ellis Bingham requests that all Jackson District residents, as well as any - other interested county residents, join him * at a meeting on Sunday, Nov. 20 at+p.m* —. at the Amissville fire hall. The meeting is - planned as a forum for the district's residents to offer their input on questions facing the county during the coming year. Major topics planned for discussion will include the landfill, highways, taxes and land use, and the family subdivision question.

The Sperryville Business Council will -l sponsor its annual Blue Ridge Christmas f celebration on Nov. 25,26 and 27. The 1 town's shops will be dressed in holiday finery, and will offer special sales for visitors. Deer season begins Monday
Deer season begins one-half hour J before sunrise on Monday, Nov. 2V. The,.. Virginia Game Commission is predicting tfk heavy hunting this season, and reminds hunters to be double sure of their targets before shooting. The Commission also reminds hunters that hunter safety ‘ 1 ; certification is required of first-time hunters, as well as all hunters 16 and younger. Carolers wanted ’ \
Since Washington began its Colonial Christmas celebration in 1986, strolling carolers have been a part of the tradition erf : the season. This year, all would-be singers are again requested to join this celebration of the season for carolling on Dec. 3 and 4, as part of the town's Colonial Christmas observance. Veterans rep here Nov. 29
Danuel Smith, the claims agent for the Virginia Dept, of Veterans' Affairs, will be at the Social Services Office in Washington on Tuesday, Nov. 29. This change from the regular date is necessary because of the Thanksgiving holiday. Mr. Smith may be reached at the department's Front Royal office (635-4201). 4^!
