te resting graduation ceremony. There was a court session, complete with judge, clerk, prosecutor, defense lawyers and sheriff. The case was titled. The Department of Education v. the Senior Clans of 19S8 of Washington High School.
Each member of the class was tried and sentenced to perform some task. After the trials were completed the judge summed up the session by saying, “In spite of the various charges brought against the members of this senior class, I consider the punishments given as sufficient. I hereby declare that a diploma be awarded to each member of'this senior class of 1938 at this, the last setting of the Washington High School court in the year of 1938. The Court stands adjourned.”
Then, each member of the class received his diploma. The class’s colors were green and gold, the flower was the marigold, and its motto was. “W.N.F.”
