Respite workers will be trained, and supervised by a nurse. “Unlike the hospice workers who are assigned to a dying patient, our respite workers will be assigned to a patient at any stage of the disease,” said Ms. Morgan, “They’ll be matched to a local family and be called upon to come for short periods whert1 the family has personal business or just needs a break.”
Families in Culpeper, Madison, Rappahannock, Fauquier and Orange counties are eligible for this service, which will be offered to everyone regardless of income, and charged according to a sliding scale.
