Patricia Ann Vest, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Vest of Woodville and Charles Russell Whorton, son of Mrs. Montrue Frazier of Castleton and the late Mr. Lee Whorton, were united in marriage on September 10 at the Sperryville United Methodist Church. Reverend Merlin Shorb officiated at the 6:00 candlelight ceremony.
The bride, escorted by her father, and given in marriage by her family, wore a white sheer floorlength gown with a bouffant skirt and basque waist. The Queen Anne neckline, bodice and juliet sleeves were adorned with jewelled chantilly lace, pearls and medallions. A double bow of sheer fabric and Chantilly lace accented the back waist and the front panel and cathedral train were created entirely of jewelled chantilly and pearls. Her juliet cap and veil were edged with seed pearls and she carried a cascading bouquet of fresh white roses and baby’s breath.
The matron of honor, Kim Baader and the maid of honor, Kathy Hudson, wore floor-length gowns of black satin. The cut-out backs were accented with three strands of pearls and a bow fashioned of pearls adorned their hair. They carried white rose cascades similar to that of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Kim Vest, Tracy Guidice and Anne Howard.
