Amissville Volunteer Fire Department carnival is scheduled June 29 through July 1. Nominations are being accepted for the honorary fire chief, prince and princess through April 8. Girls ages 12 through 17 should call Cathy at 937-5024 or write to P.O. Box 99, Amiss ville 22002. Boys and girls ages 3 through 8 should call Lorraine at 937-5526 or write P.O. Box 21, Amissville 22002.
Contestants may ride in the parade on Thursday night. Crowning will take place on Saturday night. The honorary fire chief will receive a crown, flowers and a cash prize. The prince and princess will also receive an award. Contestants may begin selling tickets and collecting donations for the fire department beginning on April 9. Final collections will be turned over to the department
