The South’s top award for high school literacy magazines went to Wakefield School in Huntly. The Southern Interscholastic Press Association recognized Wakefield's 1988 issue of the Talisman and named it “All-Southern for its literacy and design excellence.” The AllSouthern Award goes “to innovative publications whose content and appearance are of exceptional quality,” the SIPA said.
The 1988 Talisman was a collection of poetry, essay, literary criticism, fantasy and art from students in grades one through 12.
