A funeral was held March 29 at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home with the Rev. William Wilkins officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Culpeper.

Pallbearers were Tommy Jenkins, J.W. Jenkins, Jim Frazier, Billy Yancey, Robert Gore, Johnny Dowell, Harold Whitehead and Sam Compton.

Lizzie Jenkins

Lizzie Settle Jenkins, 84, of Bright wood, formerly of Brandy Station and widow of Willie Jenkins, died March 22 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Jenkins was the daughter of the late Will Jack and Georgie Fincham Settle and a native of Rappahannock County.

She is survived by two daughters, Louise Hume and Betty Ann Hume, both of Culpeper; two sons, James Jenkins and William Jenkins, both of Culpeper; one brother, Thomas Settle, Leesburg and one sister, Susie Jenkins, Lignum; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held March 26 at Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper with the Rev. John S. Farrar officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery in Culpeper.

Michael Peterson

Michael A. Peterson of Portsmouth, Va., died March 24. He was the son of Robert A. Peterson and Lois C. Peterson.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Cherly D. Peterson; one son, Robert A. Peterson; one sister, Janet Batis, Chesapeake; and his grandmothers, Hazel McCullough and Kate Peterson.

Nannie Ware

Mrs. Nannie E. Ware, 82, of Warrenton, formerly of Rappahannock County, died March 22 at her residence.

Survivors include one sister, Helen Louise Jackson, Brooklyn, N.Y.; one brother, Robert Jackson, Culpeper; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held March 27 at Joynes Funeral Home, Warrenton, with the Rev. Decker Tapscott officiating. Interment was in Warrenton Cemetery.
