Arold S. Smith, 26, of Charlottesville, faces four felony bad check charges. The indictments returned by the grand jury charge him with writing a total of $750 in checks on an account in Dominion Bank without sufficient funds to cover them.

As of March 27, Smith had not yet been arraigned on the charges.

Mary Jane Swift, 33, of Huntly, was indicted on one count of manufacturing or possession of marijuana with intent to manufacture, not for her own use, according to the bill returned by the grand jury.

She is free on $10,000 bail pending a court appearance on May 8. '

James Preston “Dickie” Walters Jr., 25, of Chester Gap, was indicted on charges of breaking and entering and grand larceny in connection with a burglary at Howard Wimer Jr.'s home last December. Walters faces related charges in four other, similar incidents. He was previously denied bond and remains in custody in the Rappahannock County Jail.
