Revival services begin this week at Hazel River Assembly of God with Rev. and Mrs. Kin McGlothlin. Services will be nightly at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 24 through Sunday, May 28, except Sunday services will be at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. The church is located in Rixeyville on Rt. 628. (Traveling from Rt. 229 go west on Rt. 640, then left onto Rt. 628). Pastor Chester Caudill welcomes everyone in the community to attend the revival and during their regular services which are held at 10 a.m. Sunday School, 11 a.m. worship service and 6 p.m. evening service on Sundays, as well as Family Night on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m.
Mark your calendar now for August 13 to attend Amissville United Methodist’s Homecoming which will celebrate 160 years for the church.
Special services will be held on Sunday, May 28, at Culpeper Assembly of God. To celebrate the last Sunday of the IRS (I’ll Reach Someone) building fund drive begun on April 16, there will be a luncheon following the morning services and a special service at 2 p.m. There will be no evening service. Pastor Bill Smith invites everyone to share in this celebration.
The community is proud of Korey Lee Uber, one-year-old son of Donnie and Wanda Uber. He was winner in the age one group of the Culpeper Jaycees Tiny Tots Pageant on Sunday, May 21. Other winners included: Erica Hopkins, 1; Douglas Keith Edwards and Ashli Dawn Howell, 2; Chasity Nicole Jenkins and James Lee Long, 3; and in the last age group of 4, Wiley Alex Craighead and Juliette Rachael Vento. Eighty-six children participated.
