Players call tor auditions

The Rappahannock Players, in cooperation with the Rappahannock Association for the Arts & Community (RAAC), are pleased to announce that their Fall Production will be the James Goldman play, “The Lion in Winter.” Auditions to be held at the Gay Street Theater in Washington Friday, June 9 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 10 at 2 p.m. The play is set in Medieval France. Positions are available for a French Princess, Knights (in shining armour), Kings, Queens and Pretenders to the Throne, among others. Castle builders, moat diggers, costumers and other stage craft persons are also invited to attend. Methodist bake sale

Sperryville United Methodist Youth Group will have a bake sale on the Pete Estes’ lawn on Saturday, May 27 at 10 a.m. Donations from church members would be appreciated.

Youth Group to host coffee

The Sperry ville United Methodist Church Youth Group will have a coffee at t.he church on Sunday morning, May 28 at 8:15 a.m. Church service will follow at 8:45 a.m.

Honorary contestants needed

The Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department is seeking young ladies between the ages of 14 and 21 to compete for the title of Miss Honorary Fire Chief. Also girls between the ages of 6 and 13 are sought to compete for the title of Junior Miss. Girls living in Rappahannock, Warren and surrounding counties may enter. Community yard sale

A village yard sale will be held at Red Bam Antiques on Rt. 642 in Amiss ville on Friday and Saturday, May 26 and 27. The shop is located 1/4 mile off Rt. 211 at Hackley’s Store. For additional information call 937-5704.
