Blackwell cites other examples of Trible infidelity to conservative positions, but most of these fall, under careful scrutiny. But alas, Trible is not perfect - only Blackwell, Durrette and each of you are, so we can all find Trible votes and positions with which we differ, and obviously that makes Trible wrong!
The point, of course, is not that Trible always performed as all conservatives would prefer. He did not, but neither did President Reagan, nor Senator Goldwater, nor anyone else. The conservative community is ripe with differences. The point is that Morton Blackwell has a solemn duty to accept the responsibilities of leadership.
And he has failed.
