Families not filling role
Jean McNear said. “I would like to concur with the policeman in Fairfax County. I’m trying to speak in support of the document. It is vital that this be taught in our schools because families have fallen down on the job. It’s important for the future of family life and for the future of our country."
Joseph Peregory said his children are pre-schoolers and “intelligent, real inquisitive. Stuff like this doesn’t need to be in the second through fourth grade . . ! Wait until seventh or eighth grade when they start puberty.
Kathy Frazier said, “I read this thing over today, and there is a lot in it that’s good and needs to be taught. The K 12 with explicit terms for parts of human anatomy, it says parents should reinforce this. I can’t reinforce that. In the parent objectives it says parents should be the primary family life educators, and you ask parents to reinforce your training. You should reinforce me instead of me reinforcing you.”
