Few flavors are as irrestible to Americans as is the flavor of chocolate. Columbus and Queen Isabella of Spain never understood the potential nor pleasure of chocolate. To them the cacao bean was bitter. Eventually the Spanish found delight in sipping from golden goblets a drink of melted chocolate with a touch of sugar and vanilla added. Later the chocolate fever spread throughout Europe - first to Italy, then France, Holland, and England.
As with many things, chocolate has its own language.
