to the “system,” he said, is that the foamboard provides some insulating value and the resin-based stucco is “virtually maintenance-free.” The board tabled Mrs. Lynn’s application, directing that she choose the colors she wishes for the exterior, then apply to the board for approval. The application, and the question of the stucco siding, will be considered at the board's special meeting on Thursday, June 1.
In other business, the ARB:
• approved an application from Irma Jenkins to construct an addition to tne summer kitchen behind her home. The small outbuilding would be 15 feet by 20 feet, and would match the existing house. Jeff Butler, who presented the application, told the board, “that’s the idea, to match the house as perfectly as possible.” All the materials are still available, he said. “That’s no problem.”
• approved an application from Fredette Eagle to replace two picture windows on the front of her home on Gay St. with casement windows which match the existing windows on the side of the house. The windows would be smaller, she told the board, and the clapboard siding now on the house would be carried around the new windows to match it.
• announced that it will hold a special meeting, at the request of County Administrator John McCarthy, on Thursday, June 1 to consider the county’s application for an addition to the jail. The meeting will be held at 8 p.m. at the courthouse and is open to the public.
