There is plenty of parking available at the Sperryville Emporium, as well as several church parking lots on Route 522 on the east side of town. Visitors, the sponsors requested, are asked to respect the property of the town’s residents when looking for parking places.
At Old way Craft Village, according to owner Eric Kvames, there will be about 50 crafters with a variety of items for sale, from porch swings to forged ironworks. Many wall bring along the tools of their trade and provide demonstrations to visitors, he added.
Among the demonstrators will be a blacksmith, Mr. Kvames’s own glassblowing, and metalsmiths. “Oldway promotes the idea of artisans demonstrating their crafts,” Mr. Kvarnes said, adding that it gives the public a better understanding of the work which goes into producing a hand-made craft or piece of art.
Also at Oldway will be a craft booth for children, where young artists will have an opportunity to try their hand at various crafts.
And the Middle Street Gallery will relocate from Washington for ttoe weekend, featuring the work of local artists in a variety of media.
Oldway’s event will be held Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There is a $2.50 admission charge to the Oldway Craft Village.
