Other activities were a crutch relay race and a wood carrying relay with one hand tied behind their back. Those attending included John Mallory, James Stone and Luke Zindel.

Plan now to attend the Amissville Volunteer Fire Department carnival Wednesday, June 28 through Saturday, July 1. We expect this year’s to be the best ever. Parade entries are now being accepted for the parade on Thursday, June 29 at 7 p.m. Call Sheila Scott at 937-4357 and advise her of your category entry. There is no entry fee.
I encourage groups and organizations to begin now to build their float or to arrange to march in the parade. There are numerous categories. Plan to ride your horse, a business vehicle, antique car, etc. Share your talent or bring along your favorite pets. I’m aware of one exciting float. The contestants for honorary fire chief and prince and princess will be aboard a float during the parade. Last year, Amissville United Methodist won the judges award for their lovely float shaped like their church
