“I don’t have any problem with the Health Department budget,” Mr. Gilkev said.
On the gypsy moth program, Mr. McCarthy said the county’s share was ten percent or $1,200 to $1,300. “Help me find somebody for this job. We need to get somebody in real soon. It’s real busy from now until September."
The board next confirmed its decision to limit the increase for the library to $3,007 more in local dollars.
“When we advertise this budget, we have to break down where the money goes and also point out the extra expenses,” Mr. Massie said.
“Two years ago the county paid $62,000 per year to operate the landfill on Clifton Clarke’s property,” Mr. McCarthy said. “In the last two years you have spent $1,124,649 for developing the landfill and hauling trash. That tells you where your money went. Next year there will be $175,000 for hauling trash and operation of the landfill. Within the next six months, you have to make application for the next phase."
