fearing that if I cduld be hauled into court for hunting ground hogs, I could be hauled into court for doing almost anything. I did nothing.
You can make amends by publishing a list of those things that county or Commonwealth law forbid me to do on a Sunday. And, if there is anything I must do, I would like to know about that, also.

Editor’s note: Due to space limitations, it is impossible to expound on the frequently fascinating and often unbelievable proceedings in the county's General District Court, which is held each Tuesday (except the fou rth week of the month) at 10 a.m. However, further inquiries into Mr. Stanley’s case revealed that Game Warden Jim Bankston did, indeed, witness him shoot two groundhogs on the Sunday in question, ana filed the illegal hunting charge. According to Warden ‘ Bankston, it is illegal to hunt any animal, except foxes from horseback (which is considered a non-consumptive form of hunting) on Sunday. It is not, however, against the law to fish on Sunday, nor is it illegal to target shoot on Sunday. It is however, against the law to target shoot at groundhogs on Sunday.
As to additional ordinances which proscribe conduct on Sundays, trie Town of Washington has an ordinance, passed on April k: 19ltd and as far as can be determined, never rescinded, which, prohibits the operation of a public dance between the hours of 12:01 a.m. and midnight on Sundays. Residents who wish to dance on the Sabbath are advised to be sure that they do so outside the town limits of Washington.
