Summer hours for the Rappahannock County Library follow. Tuesdays 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Wednesdays through Fridays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.,

and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. j

Lombardy’s Restaurant hopes to be open more often in the near fu- - ture. Located at the corner of Rt 211 and Rt 730, the restaurant is now j open weekends as follows: Fridays 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturdays 6:30 a.m. „ to 9 p.m.; and Sundays 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. \

Preparing the delicious meals and managing the restaurant are, Maggie Thielen and Arlene Mitchell < from Arlington and Kate Martin from New Jersey. Former Peace' Corps volunteers, they have a vari-, ety of items collected from around' the world for sale in the restaurant., Included are leather bags from Por-; tugal; straw baskets made by a woman’s cooperative in Kenya, and necklaces form Kenya and otherparts of the world.

They offer vegetarian and meat t specials. They invite everyone in the community to stop by for an enjoyable meal.

Congratualtions to James Mas-; sie, Jr. who won the steer at the Independence Day celebration in Washington. ^

Mrs. Anna Fincham and Mrs.1 Elva Compton were busy over the 1 weekend. Mrs. Fincham attended a' meeting in Charlottesville on Saturday with Miss Mary Miller Wood of1 Washington. On the return trip they visited with Mrs. Ann Slaughter' Keyser at Autumn Care in Madison; • also, with Mrs. Margie Ruskin at* Countryside I in Pratts, Madison* County. They ate at the Little Chef; Restaurant in Madison. Mrs. Comp-1 ton spent the day Saturday with her sister, Mrs. Joseph Button in Rixeyville. On Sunday, Lorraine Sours of' Luray called on Mrs. Fincham and! Mrs. Compton. They also enjoyed Sunday lunch at Lombardy’s restau-1 rant in Amissville.

I regret to report that I am unable to continue writing the column, at this time. It has been very exciting and challenging as well as meet- , ing some very special people..
