The Board agreed to having all employees paid as part of the payroll, to use the five-page accounts receivable format, and to wait for help from Dr. Gangel in shortening the 29-page budget summary.
The School Board presented Frank Parker with a plaque thanking him for 21 years of service to Rappahannock County as a school bus driver. Another will be presented to Shelby Frazier who retired after six years of service.
The members also approved Dr. Gangel’s recommendations for goals for the coming year of improving reading, cleanliness and climate. On the matter of cleanliness Dr. Gangel sajd much progress was made last year in keeping the floors clean. “This year we’ll introduce dusting,” he said.
Following an executive session, the Board accepted the resignation of Silvia Moore as a teacher at the elementary school. They also voted to authorize Dr: Gangel to fill the two remaining teacher positions, one at the high school and one at the elementary school.
The board also appointed Kelly Settle as junior varsity cheerleader sponsor and Charlotte Turnmeyer as varsity cheerleader sponsor, Renee Leake as varsity girls’ basketball coach and Amy Wolf as junior varsity girls’ basketball coach, and Richard Dietz as soccer coach.
