To the editor:
Well gosh, it continues that paying my taxes becomes ever more gratifying, especially after I read in last week’s Rappahannock News that yet another potentially lethal crop of marijuana had been confiscated, and the grower, which is why I keep a gun in the house, was safely locked away, never to threaten society again.
How many hundreds of thousands of dollars have we spent flying helicopters, burning precious fuel, endangering lives and property (helicopters have been known to develop non-aerodynamic characteristics over houses and people) searching for patches of marijuana? Our hard earned tax dollars are supporting an agency which goes well beyond the limits of prudent spending, not to mention sanity.
Did I say sanity? These helicopters should be landing outside 7-11 convenience stores and confiscating mass quantities of beer, wine and nicotine, expect that thorugh some form of alien reasoning, the government has chosen to say these drugs are okay and has gone even further to condone them by earning revenue from their sale.
