EGG MASS SURVEYOR
The Virginia Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, Appalachian Integrated Pest Management Demonstration Project is interested in filling several temporary positions for a period of approximately 12 weeks commencing on September 1st as gypsy moth egg mass surveyors. Egg mass survey sites are reached by car and/or on foot, sometimes in rugged terrain. Each person will be required to meet sampling deadlines. All persons will be familiarized with the gypsy moth program and trained in the survey work prior to starting the actual work. Since the job involves driving, outdoor work, hiking, map reading; employees must have a valid driver s license, be in good health, and have some map reading ability. Approximate dates of employment are September 1 st to November 15th and the rate of pay is $5.76/hour. Each individual will use his/her vehicle, and we will reimburse for mileage. Surveyors will be needed in the counties of Page, Greene, Rappahannock, and Highland.
