To the editor;
The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department has just put on its annual Firemen’s Carnival which was held June 28-July 1. It was very successful, grossing over $42,000. We contribute that success to the Amissville and surrounding communities who came out and supported us. At this time, we would like to thank some special individuals which through their time and/or donations to the carnival that helped made it a success.
Thanks to: Mary and Red Payne who worked in our ticket booth all four nights; Cathy Smith and Lorraine Early who sponsored our Queen, Prince and Princess contestants who raised over $10,000 for ow Department; all who donated articles to the auxiliary stand; Jim Woodard who donated his truck for the judges’ stand; the judges of the parade; Big J Trash who allowed us 2 extra dumpsters during the carnival and also dumped them daily; all donations of food to the kitchen and/or box dinners; Roy Rogers for their donation of chicken; Willy
