The annual awards tea of the Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, NSDAR, was held on Sunday, March 11, at 3 p.m. at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Culpeper with the Chapter Regent, Mrs. Carlyle Crigler, presiding.
Mrs. William Reed, Chapter Chairman of American History Month, honored two seventh graders from Rappahannock County Elementary School for their essays “An American Inventor, 1775-1850”, and their teacher. Robyn Arnold of Amissville received the silver medal with the inscription on it, “Excellence in American History” plus the American History Certificate of Award. Shannon Calhoun Eastham of Red Hill Farm in Amissville was presented the American History Certificate of Appreciation. Miss Arnold’s essay has been submitted to the state competition.
Arthur Neufeld of Washington, their teacher, was presented the American History Certificate of Appreciation.
