The Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department is in the process of kicking off its annual fund drive. Letters soliciting support from the community will be mailed shortly. Contestants for honorary fire chief and her court will be selling tickets and collecting donations for the department. Department members will be selling tickets also.
On March 31 the department will sponsor a dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. featuring Nightfall. For reservations call 937-4357. (Must be 21 to attend).
On April 28 the department will hold its annual auction at 6 p.m. To donate items call Paul Poling at 9375205 or Carroll Ray Settle at 9374781.
