Ribbon cuttings were familiar events this past year for the volunteers at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. The Auxiliary has a vital part in the updated looks which can be seen around the hospital.
The coffee shop, gift shop, and chapel relocated in 1989 and gave a refreshing new appearance to the second floor lobby. Families find this lobby a comfortable place to relax with these services nearby.
When stepping off the elevator on the second floor, visitors immediately notice the coffee shop and the adjoining cafe where customers may wish to enjoy their meal in an open setting.
Adjacent to the coffee shop is the new gift shop where customers find varied new merchandise and new hours.
In July the new reception desk and volunteer lounge were completed and put into use along with the new front lobby. Sheila Lane, president of the Auxiliary, had the privilege of cutting the ribbon for the new main entrance and structural canopy. It was a proud moment which celebrated the results of the Auxiliary’s $100,000 pledge to the hospital’s capital campaign.
December was a busy and prosperous month. The seventh annual Lights of Love was just as successful and heart warming as the first one. The community’s generous gifts of $11,091.00 were used to furbish the new chapel on the hospital's second floor.
Volunteers at Culpeper Memorial Hospital are a valuable part of our healthcare team.
