Planning for the single life
To make sure something’s done right, you have to do it yourself. This certainly holds true with estate planning. If you don’t plan for your family's welfare, nobody else will do it for you. The most efficient way to plan ahead is with a valid Will.
If you die without a Will, the impersonal laws of your state will determine who cares for your children and how your assets are distributed. With a Will, you're in charge.
We would to make preparing your Will as simple as possible. “Gathering Information for Your Will” is an excellent publication that not only tells you what information your attorney will need for your first meeting, but also provides you with space to list that information. We recommend this booklet for anyone who does not have a Will or anyone who is considering revising one.
