I’m more than a little nervous writing this “letter to the Editor” as it is rare for me to do such a thing.
I’ve only lived in Washington, Va., for three years and feel that there are many more people who know more about the town than I do. Perhaps this is an advantage, though, as it means that my opinions are not tainted by the arguments and controversies of the not-too-distant past (of which I understand there are a few — including lawsuits — which are casting a shadow on this present issue of the expansion of The Inn at Little Washington).
This issue is tearing the town apart — all at the expense of a few big egos. Big Egos are pointing the finger at other Big Egos at the expense of the town — and everyone seems to have lost sight of, or never cared about to begin with, the issue at hand. No one seems to have the word “compromise” in their vocabulary.
