James R. Pullen
James Robert Pullen, 97, of Washington, died March 14 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Pullen was born May 28, 1892, in Rappahannock County, the son of the late James Lawson and Betty Martin Pullen. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral was held March 16 at Washington Masonic Cemetery, the Rev. Merlin Shorb officiating.
Pallbearers were Skippy Giles, Harold Scoggins, Clabert Smoot, Newbill Miller, Jonas Jenkins Jr., Bill Pullen and Gene Pullen.
Geest-Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Nina B. Brown
Mrs. Nina Bruce Brown, 85, of Sperryville, died March 16, at Warren Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Rappahannock County.
Mrs. Brown was a member of Sperryville United Methodist Church.
She was a retired Postal worker.
Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth Brown of Sperryville; and three grandchildren.
Her husband was the late Charles Ennis Brown.
Her parents were the late Salias and Annie Taylor Bruce.
A funeral service was held at the Sperryville United Methodist Church on March 18. The Rev. Merlin Shorb officiated. Interment was in Sperryville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sperryville United Methodist Church.
