Fall sports practices begin
Practices for fall sports are slated to begin Aug. 12-13.
Varsity girl's basketball will begin practice at 9 a.m.-noon Aug. 12. Junior varsity girl's basketball will begin noon2 p.m. Aug. 12. For more information contact Renee Leake.
Varsity soccer for grades 9-12 will also begin at 6 p.m. on Aug. 12. with a meeting in the weight room. Field practice will begin the following day. For more information contact Uli Maeyer.
Cross country practice will begin Aug. 13 with those interested meeting for practice at 8 p.m. on the track. For more information contact Tom Corder.
Any student intersted in participating in any sport at Rappahannock High should have a valid physical on file at the high school. In order for the physical to be valid it must have been done after June 1 and have the information on the proper V.H.S.L. form.

GOP holds county mass meeting
The Rappahannock County Republican mass meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12 at the county courthouse.
Convention delegates will be elected at the meeting to choose a Republican candidate for the 7th District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives for the special election to replace U.S. Rep. D. French Slaughter Jr., R-Va.
All Rappahannock voters are invited to participate in the meeting.
