Britt Lawrence of Warrenton wrote a charming story entitled “The Perfect Gift,” which was commented on by the critic.
Katie and Marcy Lynn of Washington were commended for their choice of “The Bibliomaniac” as a title for their interview with Marshall Boarman. Tim Roberts of Paris was praised for his descriptive piece entitled “Skateboarding.”
The 1991 Talisman, with the theme “Stones and String,” was the 11th edition of the magazine to be published. Since 1983 the magazine has garnered awards from both SIPA and the Columbia Scholastic Press Association in New York.
Students in Wakefield’s publications classes will begin work on the 1992 edition of the magazine when they return to school in September.
