One hundred seventy-three years ago, on May 1, 1818, Thomas B. Dwyer married Mary G. Martin, daughter of James Martin. From this marriage were bom nine children, who in turn married and etc., and were scattered throughout the United States.
On Sunday, July 14 at the fire hall in Washington a reunion was held. There were approximately 100 persons in attendance. The oldest person there, Miss Pearle Smith, age 90, but who was a non relative. The oldest living relative of the Dwyer family was Mrs. Ida Dwyer Cornell of Old Hollow near Sperryville, aged 88. Mrs. Cornell was a daughter of Samuel Jacob “Jake” and Frances Manuel Dwyer, and widow of the late James Bryant Cornell.
The youngest member of the family was Amanda Michell Smoot,
