The Rappahannock Monarch* jumped to a two-game lead in ther best-of-five championship series in the Apple Valley Baseball League this weekend, beating Woodstock 20-13 Saturday and 11-9 Sunday.
In the first game William Parker had three singles, a double and a homer for the Monarchs. Pitcher Moses Jones went the distance for Rappahannock. I
In the second game Sunday' Reggie Williams led at the plate with two singles and two doubles. Phillip Daczewitz was the winning pitcher, going the distance.
The series continues at 3 p.mt Saturday in Woodstock. If needed $ fourth game will be played at 2 p.m* Sunday at Pine Knot Field. '
