The Washington Town Council meets at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 14 in the county courthouse.
Agenda items include a visit by Hugh Miller, director of the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, who will discuss the importance of historic district ordinances and architectural review boards in preserving the quality of towns. He will also meet with the town ARB at 2 p.m. Aug. 14, and will . take a walking tour of the town.
Other Town Council agenda items include an amendment to the town Zoning Ordinance, a review of the town's birthday celebration, an amendment to the Subdivision Ordinance, plans for the new Town Hall, and administrative assistance for the council.
