The marriage of Miss Sherry Lynn Blankenship and Curtiss Ryan Barnes was celebrated May 18 at the First United Methodist Church in Hampton, Va. The Rev. Donald Monk officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arville F. Blankenship and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Blankenship and Carlene Lewis, all of Hampton. She graduated from Bethel High School and received a bachelor of science degree of psychology from Virginia Tech. She will be attending graduate school at Radford in the fall.
The bridegroom is the son of the Mr. and Mrs. C. Keeton Barnes of Mandeville, La., formerly of Washington, Va. He attended Wakefield School in Huntly, was graduated cum laude from Woodberry Forest School in Orange, Va. and is a senior in fisheries science at Virginia Tech. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Barnes of Houston, Texas and the late Aileen McHugh of Metairie, La.
Joy Redman of Newport News, sister of the bride and Emily Wickham of Roanoke were matrons of honor.
James Douglas Barnes, brother of the groom and Allen Grimm of Front Royal were the best men.
The wedding party included the Misses Linda Clary, Patricia Hagan, Loan Tran and Amy Schroeder.
The flower girls were Elizabeth Barnes and Robin Lewis.
Groomsmen were Trey Babin, Scott Berger, John Blankenship and Mark Wickham.
