The Rappahannock Republican mass meeting for the 7th District is 7:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 12 at the county courthouse. Everyone may attend, only registered voters may vote and those who wish to be delegates must contact county party chairman Walter Longyear by mail by 6 p.m. Aug. 10 at P.O. The Rappahannock Democratic Committee will hold its mass meeting at the county courthouse at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 28. Delegates will be selected for the 7th District party convention to nominate Ms. Slaughter and to send delegates to the 31st House of Delegates District convention, according to county party chairman Doug Baumgardner. All Democratic Party members may attend.
District-wide mass meetings will be held in Charlottesville for Sen. Thomas Michie and in Luray for Margaret Haynes as well, said Mr. Baumgardner.
