Bluemont's in three towns

This weekend features Bluemont concerts in Culpeper, Warrenton and Luray.

Hot Jazz, a jazz band in the style of the swing era, will perform at Bluemont's Culpeper Courthouse Concert on Sunday, Aug 11 at 7 p.m.

Bluemont Concert Series is also presenting The Dry Branch Fire Squad, an old time country and traditional bluegrass band, at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10 in Luray.

It will be the fourth Bluemont show in Page County this year, held at the Inn Lawn Park on Zirkle Street in Luray.

For those in Warrenton, Bluemont will present the famous Kankouran West African Dancers at 7:30 on Aug. 10 on the lawn of the Warren Green Hotel.

The Kankouran Troupe presents an evening of traditional West African village dancing with dancers, drummers, musicians asnd storytelling in elegant costume.

Requested donation for all concerts is $3 and all are welcome.

RAAC movie: 'Long Walk Home'

"The Long Walk Home" will play at The Theater at Washington, Va. at 7:30 p.m. oh Aug. 11.

Starring Sissy Spacek and Whoopi Goldberg, the movie tells the story of a special friendship formed between a Southern housewife and and her quiet maid.

Other movies coming on Sundays to The Theatre:

"The Never Ending Story" at 2 p.m. on Aug. 18; "The Grifters" at 7:30 p.m. on Aug 25; "Citizen Kane" at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 1; "Thelma and Louise" at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 8; "Fantasia" at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 15; and "What About Bob" at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 22.
