Rappahannock News Staff Writer ‘ During the past few days, stories have circulated that Walt Disney Co. is planning to build a theme park in Northern Virginia, but noone seems to know whether Prince William County is really the proposed site.

The Washington Post reported Tuesday that Disney has either purchased or has options to buy land in Prince William County to build a theme park approximately the size of its Disneyland in California, a site totalling 185 acres.

A Disney representative in Burbank, Calif., said Tuesday that Dis•ney is considering purchasing land in Virginia but did not elaborate.

Although speculation has centered on the Gainesville area, apparently there is some indication that another possible site may be along the Interstate 95 corridor in eastern, Prince William.

That area is already under study for an amusement park. The Lego Corp. is expected to announce later
