On Tuesday evening, a fresh story circulated that Disney has chosen a site near the intersection of U.S. 15 and Interstate 66, also in western Prince William County.
Terry Holzheimer, director of Loudoun County’s Department of Economic Development, said that nobody in Loudoun County had purchased tracts of land suitable for a theme park.
Moreover, Holzheimer dismissed rumors that Disney would build a park on approximately 185 acres. He said any belief that Disney was buiding a park on 100 or 200 acres of ground was “pure speculation.”
"Nobody has any information,” Holzheimer said. “We have looked at the land records to see if there were any transactions, but we couldn't, find any. There hasn’t been a large enough assemblage of land in Loudoun County to make us think that there might be a theme park. The pieces don’t seem to come together the way Disney might do something.”
