Both Mr. Small and library staffer Betty Smith said that the program could be changed and those problems could be fixed. However Mr. Small joked that computer programs will always have “bugs” in them so computer programmers can stay employed.
Ms. Smith explained that the library had received a $24,000 grant from the state to purchase the public access catalog. The state is interested in getting all the records of public libraries in a computerized format to help with interlibrary loans and to prevent duplication of expensive research materials.
