and is prepared to serve more. Currently clients are referred by SAFE, Rappahannock Legal Services and the courts themselves. Ms. Cloud said she expects more court referrals once the Family Court system is established.
The Virginia Skyline Girl Scout Council serves more Rappahannock residents than any of the other agencies that receive funds from the Piedmont United Way. This council, with headquarters in Salem, provides training for leaders and programs for girls throughout a very large region.
There are about 70 girls in seven troops ranging from kindergartenaged Daisy Girl Scouts to highschool-aged Cadette Girl Scouts in Rappahannock County affiliated with the Girl Scout Council.
At the end of last wreek, Piedmont United Way had raised $86,600, about 42 percent of the goal for the current campaign. The campaign ends Nov. 18, and much more money must come in if the goal of $205,000 is to be reached.
