1 was speechless. I don’t even recall saying thanks. He was gone before I could think about asking his name or giving his dollar back.
Part of living in Washington is welcoming visitors, for the Fodderstack 10K, July Fourth, Colonial Christmas, and just about every day and weekend. But, opening our front doors to ghosts and goblins and clowns and witches on Halloween (accompanied by parents who seem to be having as much fun as their children) is a special treat, because the visitors are our neighbors and the welcomes are personal, one on one.
So. 1 want to say to the anonymous donor, his throughtful gesture was appreciated, but wasn’t really necessary. And, I’d like to say thanks personally and return you dollar. I hope you and your family will be back next year.
