To complain to the Postal Service is fruitless. They are civil servants who seem to answer to no one. But I remember every time there has been a postal increase, it was always for equipment that would modernize our mail service, speed our delivery.
Can anyone imagine the chaos that would befall the U.S. should U.P.S., Federal Express and others go out of business and all the millions of pieces of mail and packages would be dumped on the Postal Services?
I can only hope to get my next Rappahannock Neivs at least before the season’s change again. At this rate, I should be reading about Christmas in Little Washington as our TV weatherman is reporting about spring flowers and the swallows returning to Capistrano.
So what do citizens of this'^ountry do? Maybe some of your readers can offer a frustrated Carolinian some advice, or better still, some hope.
