These animals have provided Mrs. Welch with many ideas for paintings. She always carries her camera, and often stops alongside the road to photograph when travelling.
She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond in 1970 with a degree in graphic design. Mrs. Welch worked for many years as a graphic designer and sign painter and in social w’ork, in Richmond and Key West. When her children wrere born, first Ryan and then Courtney, she decided to stay home with them.
