The Second Saturday Oldtime Country Dance begins its second full season in Rappahannock County on Saturday, Nov. 13 at the Rappahannock Elementary School in Washington. Sponsored by the Bluemont Concert Series, the dances begin at 8 p.m. with a beginner’s workshop at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is $5 per person: $3 for Bluemont friends. All are welcome.
The band for the October dance is the Caruthers Other Band from Boonesboro, Md. with figure calling by Ellen Vigour of Crozet, Va. The evening will include oldtime Southern and New England country dances in circles, lines and squares.
Members of the band include Robbie Caruthers on fiddle, Pete Vigour on banjo and Tim Mitchell on guitar.
