The Culpeper Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has started the holiday season for Culpeper and its surrounding communities. Lights of Love has begun.
Lights of Love gives Culpeper a grand opening of the holiday season with the cermony of seasonal carols and the lighting of the Light of Love tree on the west side of the hospital.
The proceeds of this year’s Lights of Love will be ufeed to purchase bedside tables for patient rooms.
“Nursing is thrilled to be the recipient of this year’s proceeds. The new bedside tables will be compact and have a slide out table for eating. Patients will now have more open space in their room for family and friends to visit,” said Janice Beahm, nursing coordinator of the medical/surgicial unit.
The festivities will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 2. Refreshments will be served. A rain date has been set for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 7.
The red and whtie lights on the 40 foot tree signify those who contribute $10 or more in memory or honor of friends and loved ones.
Lights in the star of the tree represent contributions of $50 or more.
The names of the donors and those remembered with lights are recorded in books which will be open in the lobby of the hospital during
